Just a short drive outside of Jerusalem, the glorious cliffs and valleys breaking down into the Maale Adumim Desert. This is where the ancient road used to climb all the way from the Dead Sea and the deep desert straight up to the holy city Jerusalem. This is the Gate to the Judean Desert, Where the big Prophets as Yirmiyahu and Eliyahu Hanavi walked and prayed and prophesied, and unfortunately, this is the path the rebels and Refugees used to escape the burning Jerusalem to hide the secret scrolls of the Tora, awaiting the Jews to return after two thousand years. This day begins with an exhilarating water hike in Wadi Qelt – Nahal Prat, a magnificent canyon where a powerful stream of living water flows right through the heart of the arid desert. As we follow the vibrant oasis of Nachal Prat, we will immerse ourselves in the timeless stories of the prophet Jeremiah, and the prophet Elijah, both of whom drew their prophetic fire from this very wilderness. Next, we will step back into biblical times with a camel ride through the pristine landscapes of Genesis Land, enjoying a traditional hospitality visit at Abraham’s tent.
